The way she shares with us the kids’ lives and their struggles they faced along their way had me shedding some tears. She writes with the message of “you are loved, you are special” and I absolutely loved that. The characters have their fair share of struggles, but they work through them and find their way to a happy ending.

   Liberty Ranch review

What an amazing book about family, love forgiveness. Ellen Starry and her husband Owen, took in children that no one else wanted, and tried to do the best they could to raise them to be good, God believing people. Tommy, spent time in an orphanage before coming to live with the Starrys, and had all the bad memories, heartache, and though she once believed, she lost her faith when her best friend had been murdered . How could God allow this to happen to good people.

I love the premise of the story -- a loving couple willing to adopt children with challenges in the Colorado territory during the 1870s. There is some rich characterization, and the author paints a realistic picture of the struggles that children born out of wedlock or born with disabilities faced during this time in history. The formatting of the novel looks great, and the novel has meaningful themes about showing compassion and resisting prejudice.
straight in your mind.

Liberty Ranch review

Tragedy to triumph, pain to promise, this is a story of the love of God carrying his beloved through pasts of abuse, betrayal, shame and guilt into a future of healing, trust, forgiveness and hope. Broken but pieced back together through His unconditional love, each character comes to know Who will never leave or forsake His children. Encouraging and uplifting.
